How can the dynamics of pedestrians sound
like? If each pedestrian was a different instru- ment, what instrument would that be? Street Walkers is a sound performance where audience participants act as triggers for sound manipulation. Each one is given a random umbrella from a depot, with a visual code that traces the umbrella through a delimited space. The location, positioning and relation with other umbrellas triggers sounds along with real-time manipulation. The primary goal of Street Walkers is exploring a translation of pedestrian’s dynamic into sound. Street Walkers is part of Galeria Saguão’s residency program ObjArtLab, which aims at bringing tangible interactive art to people to try and establish a better understanding and relationship with contemporary art. |
